Club Associates hear about Imagine Forestville
The Northern Chautauqua County Club Associates recently held its regular monthly meeting at the J. Carter Knapp Post, Cedar Street, in Forestville. Post Commander Tom Halicki, welcomed the group.
The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a moment of silence for all deceased members, and veterans.
Secretary Jim Pryll read the roll call of officers and clubs. He followed by reading the minutes of the previous meeting. Treasurer, Tom Halicki, then gave the financial report.
Guests included Fredonia Mayor Doug Essek and his wife, Julie. A special guest was Findley, the daughter of Trustee Shane Boyle.
Guest speaker was Aimee Rogers, president of Imagine Forestville. She spoke of her organizations efforts to promote the village and the area. Her group has 25 members, and over 320 on Facebook. One project is a hiking trail on Walnut Street, worked on by several volunteers, including the local football team. Some financial help was given by the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation, and DFT. Other projects are being considered, including repair or replacement of the village clock, and statues of local historical dignitaries. Rogers had plenty of amazing photos on display, and she and her husband of 45 years, John, were proud to point out photos of two of their sons on the wall of honored veterans at the Post.
The Association made donations to the Silver Creek Overseas Veterans Building Fund, the Dom Polski Chicken Barbecue, and the J. Carter Knapp Post.
The next meeting of the Association will be on Sunday at 10:30 A.M. at the Silver Creek Overseas Veterans. All club members are invited to attend.
